SCG Spa offers a variety of skin rejuvenating facials for the face and body. Facials improve skin, tone, texture and can aid in the reduction of fine lines. Facials improve the overall health of your skin and help to keep your skin looking young and fresh. We encourage you to schedule your facial a day or two prior to your next event or special occasion. Results are best after a few days. Regular facials are encouraged!
Facials are ideal once a month due to the fact that your outer layer of skin will completely renew itself approximately every 28 days. In this time your skin cells are constantly being replicated from the treated cells to replace the old cells.
Facials give skin a head start so your skin cells will begin to replicate the now healthier cells and thus give you a better complexion.
If you are starting with a new skin care regimen, it is important to note that most skin products can take up to 6-8 weeks to start to treat active skin cells. Speeding up the renewal process with an SCG facial can help these products work faster and more effectively.
Peels
Brighten your skin and eliminate dryness with lactic acid, a naturally occurring acid that stimulates exfoliation at lower levels of the stratum corneum. This particular peel is a great option for dry or sensitive skin and is safe for all skin types. The skin does not actually “peel” or flake, and therefore, requires no down time. Pre-treatment using the Theraderm Prepare System is recommended for best results.
Resurfacing
Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation that removes dead skin cells and vellus hair from the face. A sterile surgical blade is used to remove dead skin cells that dull the skin, and vellus hair that accumulate dirt and oil. This form of exfoliation smooths the skin and allows for the active ingredients in skincare products and services to penetrate deeper into the skin. Alternatives to dermaplaning include microdermabrasion or scrubs for exfoliation and waxing or threading for hair removal. There is no single treatment to replace dermaplaning.
Vellus hairs will not grow back thicker and darker. Vellus hairs will grow back at the same rate and texture as before. Dermaplaning can be done every 4-8 weeks depending on your skin type and the results you want to achieve. Dermaplaning is great for those with dry, rough skin because it helps to minimize superficial acne scarring and uneven skin tones. It also helps with mature skin because it gets rid of dead skin cell build up. Dermaplaning does not require any downtime.
Dermaplaning is not the same as shaving. Dermaplaning uses a single blade that is much sharper than a razor, and a new blade is used with each patient. Our certified dermaplaning technicians also use light, feathering strokes at different directions depending on the area of the face, while keeping the blade at a 45 degree angle.
Dermaplaning is an excellent service that provides immediate and cumulative results with each service you receive. Your face will instantly feel softer and look brighter.
Improvements in the overall texture and tone of the skin can be noticed after just one treatment, as well as an increased product absorption resulting in less product waste, and improved penetration means better results.
For continued improvements, monthly maintenance treatments are recommended for treatment of fine lines, enlarged pores and uneven skin tones such as Hyperpigmentation and minor acne scarring. Regular microdermabrasion treatments help to stimulate collagen production, improve circulation and enhance lymph flow to promote internal skin health.
Radio Frequency Microneedling
Vivace (pronounced: viv-a-chee) is a radio frequency micro needling procedure that alleviates wrinkles and fine lines, tightens the skin, minimizes the appearance of scarring, minimizes pore size, improves skin texture and tone and virtually pain free with no down time.
SCG Spa is proud to offer Vivace, the newest generation of radio frequency microneedling in our medi-spa. This minimally-invasive, non-surgical treatment stimulates the natural production of collagen and is shown to be effective in alleviating facial wrinkles, fine lines, and tightening and toning and Vivace can be used to treat many areas of the body including the neck, face, hands, and other problem areas.
Vivace is FDA approved for skin rejuvenation. The treatment takes an average of 1.5 hours depending on areas being treated, is virtually pain-free and will be performed by a licensed aesthetician, who has received additional training by Vivace. While you are asked not to wear make-up after the procedure, you will have no down time.
A minimum of 3 treatments is recommended to achieve optimum results. Results are both immediate and improve overtime with multiple treatments.
