Laser Hair Removal
At SCG Spa we are proud to use The Motus Ax laser. This laser was created to overcome the limitations of traditional Alexandrite laser hair removal. The proprietary Moveo technology utilizes simple, even movements over the treatment area, gradually heating the treatment area. Just enough heat is delivered to destroy the hair follicle to ensure no damage is done to the surrounding skin.
The Motus AX handpiece features a large spot size to cover more surface area, a cool sapphire tip and was designed to allow 100% energy absorption. Many other laser systems emit large amounts of energy reflected by the skin, reducing the therapeutic energy transfer. The gradual heating and contact cooling help to eliminate the “rubber band” sensation associated with most other laser hair removal devices.

Generally, laser hair removal is still limited to treating only hair with pigment. Therefore, those with blonde, gray or white hair would still need to be treated with Electrolysis to achieve permanent hair removal.
A series of at least 6-8 treatments is recommended for hair reduction.

Electrolysis
Offered in timed sessions which vary based on the area of treatment electrolysis is effective for permanent hair removal.
Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of removing individual hairs from the face or body. Medical electrolysis devices destroy the growth center of the hair with chemical or heat energy. After a very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle to the root of the hair, a quick split-second current is then delivered to the papilla (the blood source of the hair).
After several treatments the papilla is destroyed and will no longer produce hair. Several treatments may be required to achieve permanent results!
SCG offers Electrolysis for most areas of the body including: eyebrows, face, abdomen, back, thighs, breasts, and legs. It can also be used for skin tags, broken capillaries, and seborrheic keratosis (please inquire about a consultation for these specific concerns). There are generally no permanent side effects, but sometimes a temporary, slight reddening of the skin may occur.
Electrolysis is safe for all hair and skin types regardless of pigment.
